ABOUT
This is the second incarnation of Evolving Appetites, founded by Nimisha Raja. From 1997 to 1999, it was a vegan meal delivery service, catering to busy, health conscious people in the Toronto area.
Nimisha returned to the corporate world for a few years, only to come back in 2007 and breathe new life into the company. With the goal of reaching a wider audience than the meal delivery service, she decided teaching people how to adopt this lifestyle would be far more valuable than just making the meals for them. Hence, the workshops, which are designed to inspire people to aim for optimum health and an ecologically healthy, peaceful planet.
Nimisha has been vegetarian from birth, and evolved into a vegan more than 10 years ago. She has always had a passion for food and a keen interest in total health encompassing mind, body and spirit.
Her volunteer work over the past 11 years with the Toronto Vegetarian Association (TVA) includes giving lectures and workshops to schools, seniors’ centers and other groups on vegetarian related issues. Nimisha has appeared on numerous radio and TV stations in the Toronto area promoting vegetarian lifestyles. These include Breakfast Television on CITY-TV, Kids' TV on Global Television, The Weather Channel, Rogers Community Channel 10 and EZ Rock 97.3 FM. She is also a former editor of Lifelines, a bi-monthly publication of TVA, as well as a former board member of TVA.
Nimisha holds certificates from the Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute in Puerto Rico and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto. She is also a former yoga instructor.
She left the world of corporate marketing and sales at the end of 2005 to pursue her travel dreams, and is now pursuing her passion of helping people adopt a healthier, ecological, compassionate lifestyle.
